In this seminar we will consider action research as a learning and development activity for EFL teachers. We will look at organisational contexts, underlying theory, and adjacent forms of teacher-led learning and development. We will continue by considering factors for successful implementation of action research, using experiences of regional British Council pilot action research groups as examples. We will look in more detail at the component steps of action research and look at real examples of the action research learning and development outcomes. Participants will have the chance to discuss how action research might relate to their own teaching contexts.
