The workshop on Good Scientific Practice provides information on key facts and concepts. It addresses general questions about the specificity of scientific work, the importance of values and norms. Questionable behaviour and conflicts of interest are addressed. Dilemmas are presented on the different topics and decision options are discussed in group discussions to encourage critical thinking and responsible decision making. Various aspects of Open Science round off the workshop.

Participants must be registered in Datres and in organizers Website (https://www.portal.graduatecenter.uni-muenchen.de/gc/en/good_scientific_practice). Organizers will confirm notification of acceptance by latest June 17, 2024. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered for selected students.

The activity consists of the following:

a) Workshop consisting of inputs and presentations by the instructor, peer exchange and dilemma discussion organized by GraduateCenter LMU in cooperation with the LMU Open Science Center (fullday from 9 am - 5 pm on 24.07.2024)

b) Conference on Responsible Research where the graduate programmes of the Life Science Campus Großhadern/Martinsried and greater Munich community together with the GraduateCenterLMU will jointly host an event on responsible conduct in research (from noon to evening, 25.07.2024).

All in all, the intensive dialogue at peer level, the invited speakers and the social programme offer many opportunities for stimulating exchange among the participants.

- Applicants must be PhD candidates within the EUGLOH Alliance, preferably from life sciences and fluent in English.

- To be eligible participants from Universities other than LMU must upload an official document confirming their status as a doctoral candidate within the EUGLOH Alliance when registering (e.g. matriculation, supervision agreement). The document is to be uploaded in the user account (choose: Faculty - "EUGLOH University")

- Candidates selected by the organizers (LMU) must notify this information to the Doctoral School at UAH. 

• La adjudicación de plazas no se realizará hasta que los candidatos de la UAH no comuniquen si han sido admimtidos por los organizadores. 
• Esta Actividad se ofrece de forma gratuita, pero la asistencia al 80% de las sesiones es obligatoria si se desea que compute como actividad trasversal en el Documento de Actividades.
• Dado el número limitado de plazas, se espera que aquellos estudiantes que se preinscriban y sean admitidos, asistan a la actividad formativa. Si no es posible la asistencia, se deberá anular la inscripción con la suficiente antelación. De no hacerlo así, se pondrá en conocimiento de los tutores, directores y Comisión Académica correspondientes, y se perderá la prioridad para inscribirse en las siguientes actividades transversales de doctorado.
• La EDUAH garantiza la realización de un 5% de sus actividades transversales ofertadas en un curso académico a aquellos estudiantes que acrediten documentalmente un grado de discapacidad igual o superior al 33 %. El estudiantado en esta situación podrá acceder a una de las actividades ofertadas por la EDUAH atendiendo a esta circunstancia y podrán solicitar la admisión al resto de las actividades formativas transversales en igualdad de condiciones del resto de los estudiantes de doctorado.
